The xx - 'xx'14 August 2009 The-xx
2 years in the pipe line and The xx are finally ready to release their debut album, ‘xx’.
This being the modern world; full of instant communication techniques, the world wide web and complete freedom of global information, we decided it would be wise to release the album at different dates in different countries.
So…
The UK/Europe/World:
You can get your album from the 17th of August. I highly recommend you buy it from Rough Trade as they’ll not only send you your copy ASAP but they’ll give you a free bonus CD with lots of covers on it.
USA/North America:
I’m sorry but you have to wait for your physical copy of the album: it’s coming out on the 20th of October.
HOWEVER: if you pre-order it from here they’ll send you your album in October but will also give you a .
Here are two videos we made for two of the album tracks, so you know about 2/11ths of what you’re getting into.

We’ve taken down The xx’s ‘Crystalised’ and Kid Harpoon’s ‘Stealing Cars’ videos from www.vimeo.com. We didn’t want to have to do this but Vimeo’s terms state that any video uploaded to the site become’s their property. We probably should have read this before uploading, but now that we know we can’t justify giving away the rights to one of our artist’s videos, so we’re just going to have to stick to youtube.

Stag and Dagger: Review27 May 2009 The-xx
Last Thursday, as you might well know from reading down a bit, was Stag and Dagger. We put on a night and had a ball.
Alongside the publicised line up of The xx, Girls, Arch M and Phantom were some surprise performances by Lightspeed Champion, Florence and the Machine, Kid Harpoon and an inspired Jack Penate.

The Big Pink / The xx European Tour04 May 2009 The-xx
The Big Pink and The xx have just completed a short jaunt across the UK and Europe.
I accompanied them for part of the way and took some photographs whilst there. It’s fair to say that I think these are two of the best two news bands going. Sweeping statements like that tend to be loaded – and I’m heavily biased – so I’ll just leave you with two photos, a link to a whole load more and a couple of tracks, so you can try to see for yourself why it was such a privilege for me to have bared witness to the aforementioned dates.

Introducing: The xx23 February 2009 The-xx
The xx are four 19 year olds, (Baria, Jamie, Oliver and Romy,) from South West London.
The latest signing to Young Turks, they’re currently in the process of finishing their debut album. Produced by the band and engineered by Cocadisco’s Rodaidh McDonald, the album was recorded in a one room studio inside the XL offices. The following photos chronicle some of the process.
